What I set out to do in my latest work is inspired by jazz. Like the way a musician plays the notes on a score or the notes they hear in their head, I made a system where I paint the colors I see. From there it’s all about the color. Rather than beginning with a concept of what a painting will look like, the colors I start with determine everything about the direction a piece will take.
