Fall Open Studios October 14 and 15, 2017, at Hunters Point Shipyard and Islais Creek Studios drew thousands of visitors despite the impact of wildfires on our North Bay friends and the fires’ effect on air quality in San Francisco. Artists report that a gratifying number of enthusiastic art lovers visited their studios to admire and buy their artworks.
The popular Silent Art Auction benefiting STAR, the artists’ nonprofit, sold a majority of the 120 works donated by artists. Auction proceeds support the work of STAR on behalf of Shipyard and Islais Creek Studios artists and the surrounding community.
Missed Open Studios? It’s not too late! There are still many excellent artworks left from the auction at a great price. Stop by the Shipyard anytime Saturday and Sunday, October 21-22, 1:00-4:00 p.m. Remaining artworks from the auction are available at the special auction rate of 50% off retail.
Directions from the intersection of Innes and Donahue: Turn left on Donahue, proceed one short block and turn right. Explain to the guard at the security gate that you’re there to pick up art, and park nearby. Look for the orange sign “101” and take the pathway to Building 101. At the end of the walkway, turn left and enter at the staircase near the “Auction” sign. More directions
